Final Projects

Everyone that I work with has a college degree, or has a great deal of working knowledge about there job. That makes this project difficult because there are very few questions that cannot be answered by going to the right people. However, I found one on blood culture bottle ingredients and why they are different between aerobic and anaerobic bottles. I found a lot of really interesting information that I knew the microbiologist would find interesting, but I had difficulty connecting it to everyone in the lab, or making it applicable at all. However, another CLS heard what I was doing and sent me a list of questions, which helped me make it relevant. She wanted to know about false positives and the cost it had on patients, but also how lab workers could help prevent it. I had to do a lot of in depth research based off the manufacturer's package inserts, but I finally compiled an understandeable and applicable representation of blood culture bottles.
